Summary:

We are looking to hire an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to provide hands-on support, administration, and maintenance of business-critical infrastructure environments. The role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of enterprise infrastructure platforms, including virtualization, Windows and Linux servers, storage, backup and disaster recovery, VDI, identity services, and infrastructure monitoring.

Job Role:

Provide hands-on operational support for enterprise infrastructure environments, maintaining the reliability, availability, performance, and health of infrastructure platforms. You will support VMware, Hyper-V, Windows Server, Linux, Storage, Backup, Disaster Recovery, VDI, Identity Services, and Infrastructure Monitoring. Daily duties include troubleshooting and resolving routine to moderately complex infrastructure issues, executing operational procedures, maintenance activities, standard changes, and service recovery. In this role, you will work as an extension of the onshore Infrastructure Operations team across multiple technical domains and escalate complex technical, architectural, and root-cause issues to senior engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Operations: Perform daily health, availability, capacity, and alert monitoring. Triage incidents, troubleshoot service degradation, execute documented recovery procedures, implement approved changes, participate in scheduled maintenance, and support priority incident response.

  • Virtualization & Server Administration: Administer and support VMware and Hyper-V environments. Support Windows Server and Linux systems. Provision, configure, patch, troubleshoot, upgrade, migrate, and decommission servers and virtual machines. Support cluster maintenance and workload migrations. Perform OS administration, log analysis, service validation, and configuration troubleshooting.

  • Storage, Backup & DR: Monitor storage health, capacity, replication, backup completion, and recovery readiness. Troubleshoot backup failures and execute remediation procedures. Assist with storage provisioning, capacity management, lifecycle activities, and troubleshooting. Perform backup validation, restore testing, and support DR/recovery exercises. Maintain DR runbooks.

  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI): Support VMware Horizon, Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways, and desktop pools. Perform VDI health checks, maintenance, image lifecycle activities, and platform validation. Troubleshoot VDI connectivity, authentication, availability, and performance issues.

  • Identity & Authentication: Support Group Policy implementation, testing, and troubleshooting. Monitor and validate Microsoft Entra ID synchronization and hybrid identity services. Troubleshoot authentication and access-related issues and execute documented identity remediation procedures.

  • Monitoring & Documentation: Monitor infrastructure dashboards using enterprise monitoring platforms. Perform first-response troubleshooting and diagnostic data collection. Create and maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, SOPs, and handoff documentation. Identify recurring incidents and recommend opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Job Requirements:

  • Required Qualifications: Associate or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience. 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise systems, infrastructure operations, or data center environments.

  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux systems in production. Experience supporting Hyper-V lifecycle operations and troubleshooting.

  • Core Knowledge: Working knowledge of VMware, storage, backup, restore, replication, disaster recovery, capacity and performance management. Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.

  • Operational Skills: Experience working within formal incident, change, and problem management processes. Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, communication, prioritization, and escalation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting VMware Horizon or another enterprise VDI platform.

  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as Rubrik, Zerto, or LogicMonitor.

  • Experience with PowerShell, shell scripting, or other automation technologies.

  • Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises data centers and Microsoft Azure.
