1. How did your journey with TSD start back in 2014? Do you remember your first day?

I was in the process of shifting my professional focus when I came across an online job posting. After a series of interviews, I joined the TSD team. My first day, on a warm July morning, was dedicated to meetings and getting acquainted with my new colleagues.

2. What was your role in the beginning, and where are you right now? Can you make a comparison between then and now?

I began my career in QA, but after my first year, my curiosity about how things functioned behind the scenes led me to transition into programming. Although the two roles are distinct, they both center around the same software product, viewed from different perspectives.

3. What are the everyday challenges you face in your work, and what are the fundamental skills or personal qualities needed to deal with those challenges?

The combination of attention to detail and problem-solving skills is essential for our position. I regularly deal with issues that impact multiple teams, so effective communication and coordination are also fundamental personal qualities.

4. What is your favorite part about working in TSD, and how does your job inspire you?

I cannot pinpoint just one favorite aspect, but my colleagues and the company culture stand out. TSD is full of young, intelligent people, who share a passion for computers. Annual company parties and excursions also contribute to the positive working environment.

5. What is the most important lesson you have learned over the years?

We have been constantly flooded with software updates and the race to use the latest version is never ending. The key lesson I have learned is to maintain a work-life balance.

6. What does it take to become a Software Developer, and what would you advise the guys following your steps?

If you are interested in pursuing a career as a software developer, building proficiency in technical and transferable skills can help you set yourself apart from others. A bachelor’s degree in computer and information technology or a related field will provide you with the foundation of software development principles and practices.

7. Why do you choose to remain a part of the TSD team after 10 years? What has the company offered to you in terms of professional development?

TSD has a unique working environment and provides support and guidance in professional growth. TSD offered me its path for transitioning from QA to Application Developer, which played a crucial role in shaping my professional career.

8. Who is Svetoslav outside of the office, and what does he like to do for fun?

Movies can be entertaining and often have a larger budget and production value. On the other hand, TV shows have more time to develop characters and storylines. I also enjoy the anticipation of waiting for new episodes and the ability to binge-watch multiple episodes at once. I would love to see more sci-fi and fantasy shows. I am always fascinated by the creativity and imagination that goes into these types of shows, and I would love to see more diverse and inclusive representation in these genres.

9. What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?

The first cup of coffee, an early morning walk around the city, a moment before everybody else wakes up and goes to work.

10. How do you envision yourself in another 10 years?

To keep working on interesting projects, perhaps transitioning to team management – let’s see what the future has in store for us.
