Ten years at one company is more than just a milestone – it is proof of passion, resilience, and continuous growth. Kiril has been an essential part of TSD for a decade, navigating challenges, adapting to change, and shaping the success of countless projects. His expertise and problem-solving mindset have made a lasting impact, but what truly sets him apart is his curiosity and drive to keep learning.
Beyond code and client meetings, Kiril is someone who values balance. Whether he is tackling a complex technical challenge or unwinding with a book in nature, he brings the same thoughtful approach to both his work and personal life.
What has kept him at TSD all these years? What has he learned, and what motivates him every morning? Let us hear from Kiril himself.
1. Kiril, how did your journey with TSD start back in 2015? Do you remember your first day?
I remember a smaller and more crowded office compared to my previous workplace – pretty normal back then in pre-COVID times. 😊
2. What was your role in the beginning, and where are you at right now? Can you make a comparison between then and now?
I started as a member of a remote development team for a client, facing different processes and trying to deliver things frequently. As a newcomer, it was a new and exciting challenge, especially since I had never worked for such a big organization before. Now, I am much more confident that, with my experience, I can deliver exactly what the client needs.
3. What are the everyday challenges you face in your work, and what are the fundamental skills or personal qualities needed to deal with those challenges?
Information is always scarce — you need to find your own way to overcome that and understand how the system behaves in different scenarios. Be prepared to always dig deeper.
4. What is your favorite part about working in TSD, and how does your job inspire you?
The freedom to progress at my own pace and in my own direction.
5. What is the most important lesson you have learned over the years?
Whatever you do, do it with the right motivation — then every challenge becomes an opportunity rather than an obstacle.
6. What does it take to become a Software Developer, and what would you advise the guys following your steps?
One of the biggest challenges for a software developer is that you always have to keep learning. So, for newcomers: never lose your curiosity about tech and always be ready to learn new things. In this field, you cannot just learn something once and expect to work with it for years — things are constantly evolving, and you need to keep up.
7. Why do you choose to remain a part of the TSD team after 10 years? What has the company offered to you in terms of professional development?
The company’s supportive culture, which helps me maintain a good work-life balance, has been a key factor in my decision to stay for so long.
8. Who is Kiril outside of the office, and what does he like to do for fun?
Pretty much the same person! Apart from spending time with my family, I love taking time for my favorite activities – reading a book or going for a walk in nature.
9. What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?
The smallest member of the family jumping on me on four paws, eager to go for a walk, is a great motivator. 😊
10. How do you envision yourself in another 10 years?
Much closer to the end of my professional career. 😊
