1. Plamena, tell us about your journey in TSD so far. How did you advance to the current position of Program Manager?

My professional journey has always felt like a continuous flow – each step building naturally on the previous one. I know it might sound like a cliché, but I truly believe that self-discipline, passion for what you do, and a consistently positive mindset lead you forward. Over time, these qualities open the door to new and better opportunities almost organically.

2. What does your role involve? What is the most challenging thing about it?

TSD has given me the unique opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of products and projects. This involves constant collaboration with different teams and stakeholders, leading people, and expanding both my technical expertise and business acumen. One of the things I value the most is the incredible team I work with – dedicated, supportive, and truly inspiring professionals. The challenge, and also the beauty of the role, lies in staying adaptable and continuously evolving with the needs of the projects and the people behind them.

3. What has been your favorite project in your experience so far?

Every project in our field brings something new – challenges, insights, and growth. When you genuinely enjoy what you do, each new endeavor becomes a source of enrichment. That is how I maintain balance. If the passion fades, the journey can become draining. But when you keep your inner spark alive, the more you give, the more you grow in return.

4. Share something more about yourself. Who is Plamena outside of her role in TSD?

Nothing too extraordinary, I would say. I am a parent who tries to raise her children with love for sports, reading, meaningful communication, respect for nature, and appreciation for happiness in its simplest forms. I love jogging, discovering new places with my family, and although I am passionate about traveling, I equally enjoy staying home, planning or making small interior design.

5. What would you advise your TSD colleagues who plan to advance in their careers?

There may not be a universal formula for success, but one essential starting point is having your own personal motivation – knowing why you are here and why you want to stay. When you are clear about that, it becomes much easier to stay focused, resilient, and driven.

6. Have you been thinking about your next professional development step?

As long as you feel you are in the right place and approach things with integrity, growth tends

to follow. And growth matters because only when you are strong and grounded yourself can you truly support those around you, make a meaningful impact, and contribute to a healthier environment and community.

7. What are the main skills and character traits of a successful Program Manager?

Enthusiasm, a healthy sense of excitement, adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to truly understand and respect different perspectives are essential. But just as important is the capacity to take responsibility for your decisions and the outcomes they bring. Earning trust and protecting it once it has been given is fundamental. A strong leader leads by example, stays true to their principles, and knows how to stand their ground with respect and empathy, even when others hold different views.
