Angel, tell us about your journey in TSD so far. How did you advance to the current position of Lead Application Support Engineer?
It has been quite a journey. The main factors that helped me advance were due diligence and attention to detail. Sometimes, spotting a potential issue before it escalates is essential. Becoming a team lead means being prepared to react and make decisions in various situations.

What does your role involve? What is the most challenging thing about it?
My role involves navigating multiple challenges and changes. An important aspect of the role is ensuring the team is ready for any challenges by foreseeing what lies ahead and planning appropriately. I support my colleagues in analyzing potential impacts, and ensuring timely and effective solutions.

You have worked on various projects for clients in the financial industry. What has been your favorite project in your experience so far?
I have worked with a company that has undergone several acquisitions and significant infrastructure changes. My favorite aspect of this work has been implementing high-level monitoring and fast troubleshooting capabilities using the latest monitoring tools. Understanding the infrastructure in detail has been crucial for identifying root causes during troubleshooting and analysis.

Share something more about yourself. Who is Angel outside of his role in TSD?
Talking about myself has never been easy, but I would say that I am a good person who strives to contribute positively to society. I am grateful for the journey of getting to know myself better each day and constantly working toward self-improvement. I love traveling and spending quality time with my big family.

What would you advise your TSD colleagues who plan to advance in their careers?
Be yourself and stay flexible to embrace challenges. Work continuously to improve in your role, and do not wait for others to tell you what needs to be done – be proactive. Look for potential issues early and work to prevent them before they become larger problems.

Have you been thinking about your next professional development step?
Yes, I have thought about it. I am not the type to change jobs frequently. I like my current role and the position I am in. The world modifies fast, and I am focused on investing in the company I work for.

What are the main skills and character traits of a successful Lead Application Support Engineer?
A successful Lead should be responsible and set a good example. It is important to ask questions when tasks arise and offer guidance where needed. Training the team and sharing knowledge is essential to keep everyone growing.
