We are more than happy to celebrate the fact that this month our colleague Vassil Nazarov marks a decade in TSD!

Our teammate occupies the position of Senior Application Developer for one of our key offshore clients. With a calm smile on, complemented by a refreshing sense of humor, Vassil manages his everyday programming responsibilities and overcomes the occurring challenges along the way to a successful outcome.

Outside of his software development duties, Vasko appreciates the gifts of nature and loves spending his time among them.

What is a work anniversary at TSD without a proper interview? Learn more about Vassil and his 10 years of experience in the company by reading the curious Q&A session with our colleague below.

1. Vasko, how did your journey with TSD start back in 2012?

Not surprisingly, with a job interview. 😊 Seriously though, my journey started with a week of training in TSD’s office in Troyan, which was a fun and pleasant experience. And it has remained such ever since.

2. Can you make a comparison between then and now? What was your role in the beginning, and where are you at right now?

In the beginning, we were just three employees in TSD’s Sofia office. We did not have the luxury of Helpdesk, System Administration, etc., and we had to fill up all those gaps ourselves. Nowadays, I can devote my complete attention to my immediate duties without any distractions. But I think it is good both ways.

3. What are the everyday challenges you face in your work?

An occasional quiz from our Marketing department pretty much sums it up. 😊 And you can’t do away without some programming here also.

4. And what are the fundamental skills or personal qualities needed to deal with those challenges?

The main thing is to keep learning and adapt to change.

5. What is your favorite part about working in TSD? How does your job inspire you?

I’m engaged in ongoing software development projects of a large corporation that is a client of the company. TSD is making it a transparent and smooth experience by facilitating all technical and administrative hurdles. I know that I’m having my back covered all the time. I also feel cared for beyond just the employee level. With TSD, my options are always open, and I can switch to different projects should I wish to.

6. What does it take to become a Senior Application Developer, and what would you advise the guys following your steps?

Seniority comes with experience, perseverance, attention to detail, and most importantly, with making yourself a healthy and dependable part of the whole. In my opinion, there is no need to follow anyone’s steps as everyone’s path is different. Having succession is sufficient.

7. Why do you choose to remain a part of the TSD team after 10 years? What has the company offered to you in terms of professional development?

We (TSD and I) have offered each other most everything we have wanted. It is a mutually beneficial and non-limiting collaboration. That is what is also making it healthy and sustainable.

8. Share something personal about yourself. Who is Vassil outside of the office, and what does he like to do for fun?

Inside and outside of the office, I’m the same person. That is to say, I’m not suffering from a Multiple Personality Disorder. 😊 To answer the question, outside of the office, I’m building a homestead with my family on a piece of land located 50 km away from Sofia.

9. How do you envision yourself in another 10 years?

Frankly, I don’t. I’m doing whatever I want and can within my current abilities and limitations, and I guess I will just keep doing the same.

10. How would you describe the past decade in TSD in just three words?

Healthy, rewarding, sustainable… And thanks!
