Check out the interview below and learn more about Ahmed and his 10-year professional experience.

  1. How did your journey with TSD start back in 2013? Do you remember your first day?

At that time, I was at a crossroads and that made me decide to dive into a new endeavor. My application and professional skillset met the essential job requirements, and I am grateful that TSD believed in me and I joined the company. My first day at TSD was the typical meet-and-greet situation with working procedures and colleagues who were very friendly and cooperative during the onboarding process.

  1. What was your role in the beginning, and where are you at right now? Can you make a comparison between then and now?

Every developer is constantly on the path of exploration due to the fast-paced development of the industry. There are always new technologies that we need to learn about and incorporate into our work. Overall, throughout the years I went through various professional challenges and projects, which provided me with the opportunity to gain knowledge, develop new skills, and improve some of my personal qualities.

  1. What are the everyday challenges you face in your work, and what are the fundamental skills or personal qualities needed to deal with those challenges?

In my opinion, the most important talent needed to deal with everyday challenges is problem-solving skills.

  1. What is your favorite part about working in TSD, and how does your job inspire you?

The endless supply of funny jokes and elaborate choice of songs that our EVP & COO likes to hum. 😊 I find them particularly interesting and motivational.

  1. What is the most important lesson you have learned over the years?

I have two rules:

  1. Do not take things too seriously, especially yourself.
  2. Learn when to break rule number one and feel the moment to be serious and responsible.

  1. What does it take to become Lead Application Developer, and what would you advise the guys following your steps?

Mostly patience. My advice is to get a plate with the following label: “Keep calm and keep coding” and place it on your desk. It is a good reminder when you are troubleshooting a problem for hours, and your monitor looks like a punching bag to you. It will happen more often than you think.

  1. Why do you choose to remain a part of the TSD team after 10 years? What has the company offered to you in terms of professional development?

TSD provides a supportive team environment, and I enjoy working with positive and collaborative colleagues. I appreciate the stability that comes with being a part of the company. Additionally, TSD applies a practice that includes regular reviews with clients and employees, which helps to get fresh feedback from both sides. This always leads me to a constructive dialog.

  1. Who is Ahmed outside of the office, and what does he like to do for fun?

As a typical “do it yourself” enthusiast, tackling a wide range of problems and activities is always a fun endeavor. I feel satisfied when I stretch my legs in the evening after a job well done and have a cigar and a drink in peace.

  1. What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?

I have something like a ritual in the morning – to imagine that today is my last day and how I would like to spend it.

  1. How do you envision yourself in another 10 years?

Retired and based in the countryside, where I can take care of my old house and garden. Also, enjoying long walks on the rural outskirts of the village.
